Impressionist images - in the studio
These are ideas that I have been exploring over the last few years and involve a number of different “impressionist” techniques. This article published in the N Magazine in 2020 explains some of these processes.
Techniques such as in camera multi exposures and ICM (intentional camera movement). As the name suggests, the idea is to convey an impressionistic response to the subject which results the image looking more like a painting than a traditional photograph. There is more emphasis on depicting movement and the play of light rather than having everything pin sharp.
